Writing Math on the internet!

With the development of Google Docs (http://docs.google.com/), one has to do word processing on their computer less and less.  Working online is usually faster (just a browser to load), and allows your data to be stored in “the cloud”–that is, online rather than on your computer, making the files more secure.

Amazing Program: Invitationland

This site I have to credit my amazing wife for finding.  Invitationland is an online program/website designed to help you create professional looking invitations!  They have both a free service anyone can use and a membership ($) service that can be used to access more styles of invitations, but the free service is quite impressive.

It is essentially an online version of Microsoft Publisher, and allows you to download a pdf of your invite when you are done!  I was very impressed at how easy it was to make an invitation, especially for the more computer illiterate like my wife.

Amazing Program: Edit PDFs with OpenOffice!

OpenOffice just keeps getting better and better.

In the last update I got, I could now open Microsoft’s new (stupid) proprietary versions like docx and xlsx directly with OpenOffice.  No more word necessary.

But now this one takes the cake.  For the longest time, OO has been able to DIRECTLY export to PDF (avoid having to print to a PDF Printer, like CutePDF), but now it can EDIT PDFs as well, removing many people’s need for Adobe at all!
